Our Saarinen Tulip Tables are a masterful reproduction of the original Saarinen table. Absolute attention is paid to the workmanship of the stone and base creating a modern classic meant to last for years. The Saarinen table base is available in matte white or black, glossy white or black, or matte silver. The Saarinen table top is available in a wide variety of stones and laminates, including the ever-popular white Arabescato and black Marquina. Eero Saarinen was born in Finland in 1910.  Over the next 51 years, Saarinen would produce a body of architectural and industrial design work that will forever be considered to be of great importance to the American landscape.  From tables and chairs to airport terminals and classroom desks, Saarinen’s reach was far and wide.  As one of the second-generation designers of the modernist movement, Saarinen experimented with materials and shapes.  His research and designs led to buildings and furniture that most thought could never be created such as the legendary Saarinen table.

Among Saarinen’s most notable furniture design was the Pedestal Furnishings Series which was introduced in 1958.  This series included the tulip chair, tulip armchair, tulip dining and coffee tables, tulip side tables, and a stool.  The continuity of this series was perfect, thus eliminating the “slum of legs” that Saarinen detested so much.

This round dining height tulip table has a lacquered cast aluminum base in white or black and stands 28 1/4" in height. The base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. Saarinen table stone tops are protected with a natural wax finish.

In-stock in white Carrara marble (natural/glossy) and white laminate.  Saarinen tables are available in a variety of other tops.

Made in Italy.

Materials: Saarinen tulip table with white, black, or matte silver lacquered cast aluminum base and choice of laminate, marble, or porcelain top.  White, black, and silver bases are available in a glossy or matte finish.
